GAME 1 | Stonehill 16, Delaware State 3
EASTON, Massachusetts --The Delaware State Hornets got a boost from Sebastian Paz, who strung together three hits in a 16-3 loss to the Stonehill Skyhawks Friday.
Eddie Del Valle (0-9) started and took the loss on the mound for Delaware State (4-29, 3-19).
In addition to his three hits, Paz had a double to lead the Hornets. Brady Daniels compiled a standout effort as well, going 1-for-2 with two walks. Justin Batts also helped out for Delaware State, putting together zero hits in one trip to the plate while adding two RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the second inning. Paz came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State and get them on the board.
The Skyhawks then rallied to score 14 runs and take a 14-1 lead before the Hornets got back on the board in the sixth. Jaryn Sample came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State, which brought the score to 14-2 in favor of the Skyhawks.
Stonehill expanded their lead to 16-2 before the Delaware State offense got going, reducing that lead to 16-3 in the seventh. The ballgame ended with that seventh inning rally falling short.

EASTON, Massachusetts --Justin Batts racked up four hits, but the Delaware State Hornets fell to the Stonehill Skyhawks 15-3 on Friday.
Ethan Johnson (0-2) got the ball to start for Delaware State (4-30, 3-20) and took the loss.
In addition to his four hits, Batts had an RBI to lead the Hornets. Jabril Bullock put together a noteworthy day at the plate as well, going 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Carter Boyd also chipped in for Delaware State, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a double, a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 9-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the seventh inning. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as Stonehill added six runs to their tally on the way to a 15-3 final.
