DOVER | Under newly appointed head coach Pedro Swann, the Delaware State University baseball team will play a total of 23 home games, including 15 Northeast Conference (NEC) contests, as the Hornets announced its 2025 slate on Tuesday.
"I'm looking forward to starting the season and seeing how my team competes and bonding as a unit while battling our competition," said Head Coach Pedro Swann.
"We have a very young and athletic team and I'm looking forward to seeing this team develop and compete in the NEC this season."
Delaware State, which went 22-27 overall and 17-15 in conference play last season, will also play Villanova in the first round of the Liberty Bell Classic.
After opening the season on the road at North Carolina A&T (Feb. 14-16), the Hornets, who are looking to return to the conference tournament for the second time in just their third year of being members of the NEC, will visit host Lincoln University (Pa) in their home opener (Feb. 21). The Hornets will then travel up Route 1 to face the University of Delaware (Feb. 25).
Delaware State will conclude its opening month by hosting Manhattan University in a three-game series (Feb. 27-March 1).
After the series with Manhattan University, the Hornets will open up conference play on the road at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Delaware State will play a non-conference single game against UMBC (March 19), followed by home games against LIU (March 21-23), and Villanova (March 25).
Delaware State also has home games with Central Connecticut State (April 4-6), Coppin State (April 17-19), UMBC (April 29), Norfolk State (May 9-11), and the University of Delaware (May 13).
The Hornets will close out the road schedule and regular season at Wagner (May 15-17).
The 2025 NEC Baseball Tournament will be held May 21-25.
