TRENTON, New Jersey --The Delaware State Hornets struggled on Friday, falling to the Wagner Seahawks by final score of 21-4.
Freshman Ethan Johnson (0-3) got the ball to start for Delaware State (7-33, 6-23) and took the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets were trailing 18-0 in the fourth inning when they first put runs on the board. Alec Rodriguez put Delaware State on the board with a one-out solo home run off junior C. Trizuto.
The Hornets kept the Seahawks off the board before narrowing the gap further in the fifth. Delaware State picked up a run on junior B. Timmons' two-out solo home run off of Trizuto, which brought the score to 18-2 in favor of the Seahawks.
Wagner built their lead to 19-2 before the Delaware State offense got back to work, reducing that lead to 19-4 in the sixth. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as Wagner added two runs to their tally on the way to a 21-4 final.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
