Women’s Lacrosse announces incoming class ahead of 2023 season

DOVER, Del. --- Delaware State women's lacrosse head coach Pamella Jenkins has announced the Hornets' incoming class for the 2023 season. Jenkins will be welcoming 11 freshman and one Division II transfer for the coming season including three attackers, three midfielders, four defenders and two goalkeeper.
 
Genesys Spann: A Player of the Year and First Team all-conference selection in her senior year and will playing on the attack at DSU.
 
Dylan Wilkes: A four-year captain of her high school lacrosse team finished her career with 228 points, 200 career goals and 28 assists. She was tabbed as the Offensive MVP each season. A two-year selection on the Top-100 Girls Lacrosse Players in the state of New Jersey list, Wilkes will join the Hornets attack this coming season.
 
Thalia Shoemaker: A captain of her high school program, will be placed in the Hornets defense this season.
 
Cadience Sadé Bradford: A two-year captain who will be slotted on the attack will also be a member of DSU's ROTC program.
 
Nailah Green: who is transferring in from Lock Haven University, appeared in 10 games for the Bald Eagles during the 2022 season, will be joining the Hornets midfield.
 
Zahra Smith: A four-year member of her high school lacrosse program, she served as team captain in her senior year. She broke her school record for most goals scored as well as caused turnovers in a single season. Smith was recently named a USA Lacrosse All-American for the 2022 season. She will be joining the DSU defense this coming season.
 
Nyjah Rose Smarr: A former captain of her high school lacrosse program, will be positioned in the midfield in her freshman campaign. She will also be a member of the honors college here at Delaware State.
 
Skye Calloway: A three-year member of her high school lacrosse team, Calloway will be a part of the Hornet defense this season.
 
Sanai James – A one-time team captain, James will be a part of the Hornet defense this coming season.
 
Kimaari Mondy: A captain in her senior season, Mondy was also a two-time team MVP during her high school career. She will be minding the net for the Hornets this year.
 
Jaydyn Coleman – A two-year team captain, Coleman will be placed in the midfield this season.

Isabel Gautreaux - A four-year member of her high school lacrosse program, Gautreaux will be competing for a spot in net during her freshman season.
