Hornets Reach Double Digits in Offensive Battle with Presbyterian

Dover, DE – The Delaware State women's lacrosse team posted its highest scoring total of the season Tuesday, finishing with 10 goals in an 18-10 loss to Presbyterian College. 

The Hornets (0-4) showed consistent offensive production across all four quarters as they continue their non-conference slate.

  • Keenan Clark led the scoring effort with a team-high four goals. 

  • The Hornets had four other scorers who each added a goal to the balanced attack. 

Game Summary 

Presbyterian opened the game with three quick goals before Keenan Clark put Delaware State on the board at the 11:02 mark of the first quarter, assisted by Genesys Spann. The Blue Hose responded with a four-goal run to end the period with a 7-1 lead. 

The Hornets found their rhythm in the second quarter, outscoring Presbyterian in the final minutes of the half. Kehnai Parks sparked the run with an unassisted goal, followed by a strike from London McFarlane. Clark then found the back of the net just one second before halftime, cutting the deficit to 11-4. 

Delaware State continued to press in the third quarter. Clark added two more goals to her total, one assisted by McFarlane and another unassisted, while Taylor Weston scored in the closing seconds of the period. 

In the final quarter, the Hornets maintained their aggressive play, netting three goals. Makayla Noel, Genesys Spann, and Kristin Sims all scored unassisted down the stretch. While the early gap established by Presbyterian held through the final whistle, the Hornets' 10-goal performance marked a significant step forward for the offensive unit.
