Davis, CA – Delaware State dropped a 20-5 road decision to UC Davis on Tuesday. The Hornets now sit at 0-3 on the season as they head toward their conference opener. 

Key Stats 

• Genesys Spann led the Hornet offense with a goal and two assists. 

• Ceanna McGirt, Kehnai Parks, and Kristin Sims each recorded a goal. 

• Kimaari Mondy started in net and made four saves in 38 minutes of play. 

Game Summary 

UC Davis took an early lead, scoring the first seven goals of the match. Delaware State got on the board late in the first quarter when Kehnai Parks scored an unassisted goal at the 4:45 mark. 

The Hornets added two more scores in the second quarter. Genesys Spann found the net unassisted, followed shortly by a goal from Kristin Sims, who capitalized on an assist from Spann during a power-play opportunity. Despite the offensive push, UC Davis led 11-3 at halftime. 

In the third quarter, the Aggies extended their lead with six goals. Delaware State answered late in the period when Ceanna McGirt scored off another assist from Spann. 

The Hornets added one final goal in the fourth quarter to bring their total to five. While Delaware State continued to test the UC Davis defense late in the game, the Aggies' early scoring runs determined the 20-5 outcome.
