Dover, Del. (Mar. 31, 2021) ---The Delaware State baseball team returns to MEAC competition with a four-game series at Norfolk State, beginning with a 3:00 p.m. contest on Thursday at NSU's Marty Miller Field.
The Hornets and Spartans will play a doubleheader on Friday starting at noon and wrap up the series with a single game on Saturday.
This will be Delaware State's second MEAC series of the season, and first on the road. The Hornets split four games at home with Coppin State in their opening MEAC series on Mar. 20-21.
DSU (4-10 overall) is trying to bounce back from a series sweep at the hands of George Washington last weekend.
As a team, the Hornets are tops in the MEAC in hitting with a .295 batting average and .463 slugging percentage. Delaware State is also tied with North Carolina A&T for the Conference lead with 15 home runs.

John Weglarz (jr.) is tops in the MEAC and 18
th among all NCAA Division I players with a .449 batting average (22-for-49). Weglarz is also the team leader with 15 runs bated in. Infielder
Trey Paige (so.) is batting .396 with three homers and 14 RBI.
On the other hand, the Hornets are looking to improve on a league-high 11.27 team earned run average through 14 games.
Norfolk State is 7-14 overall and 3-1 in the MEAC. The Spartans took three out of four at Coppin State in their first MEAC series last weekend.
