Dover, Del. (Feb. 24, 2021) --- After two weather-related postponements, the Delaware State women's lacrosse team makes its season debut at the University of Delaware on  Wednesday in the first meeting between the state's two NCAA Division I programs.
Pam Jenkins begins her second season as head coach of the Hornets. DSU played just six games in her first year (1-5), which was shortened by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
The Hornets return 14 letterwinners from the 2020 squad. Sophomore Genna Gentile is the top returning scorer with 11 goals and 12 points last season.
The 2021 DSU squad, the largest in team history, also features 12 newcomers.
The University of Delaware (0-1) opened its season with a 17-10 loss to Temple on Feb. 20.
