HORNETS CLAWED BY VISITING TIGERS 20-7

Dover, Del. (Mar. 24, 2015) --- Third baseman Brady Policelli had four hits and six runs batted in to lead Towson to a 20-7 win over Delaware State at Soldier Field today.

The loss snapped a three-game win streak or the Hornets, who fell to 5-12 this season. The Tigers snapped a seven-game slide to improve to 3-18.

Towson had 21 hits in the contest. Brendan Butler collected three hits, while four players had two each for the Tigers.

Cameron Onderko had two of DSU's seven hits; and Sam Barber hit his second home run of the season for the Hornets.

After the teams traded first inning runs, Policelli's three-run double highlighted Towson's four-run second inning.

The Hornets answered with two runs in the bottom of the second. Barber hit a one-out solo homer and the second run of the inning scored on a wild pitch to cut the Tiger's lead to 5-3.

Towson blew the game open with six runs in the third inning. Policelli was again in the middle of the rally, doubling in two runs; while Chris Henze also had a two-run double and Brendan Butler singled in two more to give the Tigers an 11-3 lead.

Towson added a run in the fourth to stretch its lead to 12-3.

The Hornets scored a run without a hit in the fifth to cut the Tigers' lead to eight.

Towson put three more runs on the board in the sixth and two in the seventh to open up a 17-4 lead.  Richie Blosser's two-run double was the big blow in the sixth.

Delaware State scored two runs in the eighth, one crossing the plate on a single by pinch hitter Chuck Olsen.

Policelli drove in his sixth run of the game on a double in Towson's two-run ninth inning.

Towson reliever Lee Lawler (1-3) was the winning pitcher, while DSU starter Tyler Cullen (0-2) took the loss.
