Dover, Del. (Feb. 24, 2013) --- Delaware State's first ever women's lacrosse home contest was spoiled by the Detroit Titans at Alumni Stadium today. The Titans (1-2) scored the first 15 goals en route to a 15-1 victory. The Hornets fell to 0-2 in their inaugural season.
Erin Campbell and Tessa Keuler scored three goals each, while Michaela Schwartz and Lindsey Saunders tallied two each for Detroit. The Titans scored six goals in the first seven minutes and never looked back.
Delaware State scored the final goal of the game when Kiyanna Brown found the net on a free position shot with 11:03 left in the contest. It was her first career goal.
Detroit outshot the Hornets 31-6. Sierra Harris led DSU with three shots.
Delaware State goal keep Rhian Sellers recorded six saves.
The Hornets return to action on Friday with a home game against Liberty. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
