Delaware State evened the game with four runs in the seventh. Eubank led off the inning with a homer to make it an 8-5 score. Gatto followed with a walk, Ryan Haas then singled and Mike Rizzuto drew a walk to load the bases with none out. Gatto and Haas came around to score when a fly ball off the bat of Joey Babuca was dropped by UMES right fielder Donnie Haines to pull the Hornets to within 8-7. Two batters later, DSU tied the game at 8-8 when Rizzuto scored on a sacrifice fly by Jose Portela.
