GAME 1 | Cent. Conn. St. 19, Delaware State 1
DOVER, DE --Freshman Carter Boyd went 1-for-2 with a double for the Delaware State Hornets in a 19-1 loss to the Cent. Conn. St. Blue Devils on Saturday.
Sophomore Eddie Del got the ball to start for Delaware State (3-22) and took the loss.
At the plate, the Hornets were led by Boyd, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets were trailing 5-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Boyd came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State and get them on the board. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as Cent. Conn. St. added 14 runs to their tally on the way to a 19-1 final.
GAME NOTES
» Delaware State pitchers faced 52 Cent. Conn. St. hitters in the game, allowing eight ground balls and nine fly balls while striking out three.

DOVER, DE --Delaware State received contributions from every part of their lineup, as all nine starters reached base safely, but the Hornets fell to the Cent. Conn. St. Blue Devils 12-10 Saturday.
Junior Nathan Vidmar got the ball to start for Delaware State (3-24) and took the loss.
In the batter's box, the Hornets were paced by freshman Hassan Turner, who went 3-for-6 on the day with two RBI. Junior Jabril Bullock compiled a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two RBI. Sophomore Jaryn Sample also contributed for Delaware State, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding two RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets were trailing 6-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Sophomore A. Rodriguez's run-scoring single highlighted a two-run inning for Delaware State.
The Blue Devils expanded their lead to 9-2 before the Hornets offense got back to work, cutting into that lead in the fourth. The Delaware State offense exploded for five runs, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Bullock, which brought the score to 9-7 in favor of the Blue Devils.
Cent. Conn. St. expanded their lead to 11-7 before the Delaware State offense got going, reducing that lead to 11-10 in the seventh. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as Cent. Conn. St. added one run to their tally on the way to a 12-10 final.
