DOVER, Del. --The Delaware State Hornets struggled on Sunday, falling to the Le Moyne Dolphins 15-4 despite the efforts of sophomore Evan Bouldin, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
Freshman Rocardo Gonzalez  started and took the loss on the mound for Delaware State (3-12, 2-4). The right-hander went 3.1 innings, giving up two runs, zero earned, on two hits, allowing four walks and striking out four. Junior Brandon Hatch was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit.
Bouldin led the way offensively for the Hornets, going 2-for-4 in the ballgame with a home run and two RBI. Senior Jancarlos Colon compiled a noteworthy day at the plate as well, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Senior Kodai Yaoita also chipped in, going 2-for-3 for Delaware State with a double.
The Hornets got on the scoreboard first, starting in the third inning. Yaoita came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State and get them on the board.
The Dolphins then rallied to score seven runs and take a 7-1 lead before the Hornets got back on the board in the fifth. Yaoita came across to score the lone run of the inning for Delaware State, which brought the score to 7-2 in favor of the Dolphins.
Le Moyne expanded their lead to 15-2 before the Delaware State offense got back to work, reducing that lead to 15-4 in the ninth. The Hornets added two to their tally on Bouldin's two-run homer to left. The Hornets were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame. Le Moyne was led offensively by sophomore Keneston, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and six RBI. Junior Goldman led the Dolphins pitching staff, throwing eight innings of three-run ball.
