The Hornets hosted Seton Hall University this weekend and battled a great opponent in a tightly contested match.
Delaware State started strong by securing the doubles point. Sophomore
Sia Mahajan and freshman
Maite Bou Safont delivered a key win, defeating A. Serata and N. Campbell, 7–5 at No. 1. Junior
Catherine Goldman and freshman
Hannah Watkins added another impressive performance, dominating R. Benoualid and E. Coe with a 6–2 victory at the No. 3 position.
The Hornets carried that momentum into singles play. Goldman earned a hard-fought win at the No. 2 position, defeating N. Campbell in a third-set tiebreak, 4–6, 6–2, 10–5. Senior
Lucia Casas Blas also pushed her match to a third-set tiebreak but narrowly fell, 1–6, 6–3, 4–10. Several other Hornets competed in closely contested matches, but Seton Hall ultimately secured the team victory.
The Hornets will look to bounce back next Saturday, February 21, 2026, when they travel to face Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.
