Cary, NC-- Junior Catherine Goldman was selected as a Qualifier in the 2025 Division 1 ITA All-American National Championship held in Cary, NC last weekend.

In a 256-player draw, Goldman drew the top-ranked #2 seed Darya Schwartzman from Rice University. In a grueling three hour battle, Goldman extended the match to 3 sets, ultimately falling short 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-4. 

This was the first time in recent history an athlete from Delaware State (as well as the MEAC) has been chosen as a Qualifier for the ITA All-American National Championship, which a huge honor for both Goldman, Delaware State, and the MEAC Conference. 

The Hornets travel back to Cary, NC next week to compete in the MEAC Individual Championship Tournament on October 2-4, 2025.
