NORFOLK, Va. - Delaware State women's tennis placed four student-athletes on the All-MEAC list, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday, April 23.
Victoria Linkovski earned Rookie of the Year. Kit Yi Kaye Au-Yeung was on the All-MEAC First Team. Lucia Casas Blas and Camilla Mitolo took All-MEAC Second Team honors.
Linkovski started her career at Delaware State with a 6-6 (3-3 MEAC) singles record and a 1-11 (0-5 MEAC) doubles record. She mainly played third or fifth singles. Linkovski won five straight singles matches from late February to late March. Against Coppin State on March 18, she nearly had a perfect match, going 6-0, 6-1 in fourth singles. Linkovski's main doubles partner was Brooklyn Bowen.
Au-Yeung, a senior, went 9-4 (4-2 MEAC) in singles, mainly playing first and second, and 10-5 (4-2 MEAC) in doubles. From mid-February to late March, she won eight singles in a row. Au-Yeung paired up with Casas Blas and tallied a 10-4 doubles record. (Each saw one loss with a different partner). The pair were victorious in six straight matches in March. Au-Yeung won MEAC Player of the Week on March 12.
Casas Blas, a junior, had a 9-4 (3-3 MEAC) singles record, mainly playing first or second, and was 10-5 (4-2 MEAC) in doubles. Similar to Au-Yeung, Casas Blas won eight straight singles matches from mid-February to late March. She won MEAC Player of the Week on March 26.
Mitolo, a senior, concluded her season at 8-5 (5-1 MEAC) in singles, mainly in fourth or fifth, including a perfect 4-0 in fifth. She won six consecutive singles in March. Mitolo was 3-9 (2-4 MEAC) in doubles, usually paired with Eva Golembiovski.
Linkovski hails from Toronto, Canada. Au-Yeung is from Hong Kong, China. Casas Blas is a Madrid, Spain native. Mitolo is from Molfetta, Italy.
