Hornets Drop Last Home Game Against Merrimack

DOVER -- Delaware State lacrosse (2-12, 2-7) fell to Merrimack (4-11, 4-5) in their final home game in continued NEC conference play Saturday afternoon, 16-6. The Hornets will return to action on Wednesday, April 24 when they travel to Wagner for their final game of the season. The first draw is set for 6 p.m.

FIRST QUARTER:

The Hornets were scoreless in the first quarter. Whereas the Warriors saw two goals from Sophie Scearbo and Lindsay Atkinson.

SECOND QUARTER:

Ebony Reddick got the Hornets on the board to start off the second quarter. The Warriors added three. Mica Lambert scored one right before the half to put the Hornets within three.

THIRD QUARTER:

London Downing and Rossella Nardi kept the Hornets alive at the beginning of the third quarter. Five straight goals would put the Hornets down by seven at the end.

FOURTH QUARTER:

The Warriors outscored the Hornets 5-2 in the fourth to secure the win.
