DOVER – The Hornets are headed to the RO CBI Invitational ( College Basketball Invitational). On Sunday, March 17 the Delaware State men's basketball team officially accepted an invitation to the 2024 College Basketball Invitational.

"We are excited to have received an invitation to participate in the CBI ( College Basketball Invitational) in Daytona Beach, Florida next week." head coach Stan Waterman said. "The opportunity to experience post-season play will be huge for the continued growth and development of our program."

"I'm looking forward to taking the court with our team at least once more this season. We were not ready for our season to end."

Delaware State received a number 14 seed and will face the number three seed Seattle University on Saturday, March 23 at 5:30 p.m. 

Seattle is in the WAC (Western Athletic Conference) and lost in the semifinals of the tournament to Grand Canyon. The Redhawks finished the regular season 18-13.

The 2024 Ro CBI tips off with First Round games on Saturday, March 23, and Sunday, March 24. The Quarterfinal Round is on Monday, March 25, followed by the Semifinal Round on Tuesday, March 26. The Championship Game takes place on Wednesday, March 27. All games will be played at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Fla.
