Football Adds 13 New Hornets on National Signing Day

DOVER - Thirteen new Hornet football players are headed to Dover, Delaware after signing their National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Many high school athletes' dreams of wanting to play football at the next level and today it became a reality for these young men.

Head coach Lee Hull had a few thoughts after national signing day as head coach of the Hornets. 

"We went into this recruiting cycle with a plan and that was to get longer and bigger at every position.  We needed size and length while gaining some experience. I feel we accomplished this goal between the early signing period in December and this signing period," said head coach Lee Hull.

Starting with the Offensive Lineman:

Jestus Johnson ( Laurel, MD)

Antonio Williams ( Newark NJ)

Defensive Lineman:

Mario Keanon ( Sacramento, CA) 

Linebackers:

Brian Bates Jr (Centerville, VA)

Aaron Willis ( Richmond, VA)

Defensive Backs:

Shane Thrift ( Monroeville, PA)

A'Kendre Matthews ( Seaford. DE)

Running Backs:

Elijah Williams (Richmond, VA)

Jakwon Kilby ( Dover, DE)

Wide receivers:  

Jordan Jakes (Stockbridge, GA)

Quarterbacks:

Mikal Davis ( Philadelphia, PA) 

We have a good mix of high school players and transfers," said head coach Lee Hull.

Coach Hull and the Delaware State football staff, alongside the entire athletic department, would like to officially welcome the young men who signed today, along with the five who signed during early signing day in December.
