Washington, DC. – The Delaware State women's cross country team faced off against 4 teams on Friday (Oct. 18) morning at the Kenilworth Park Invitational.
 
The Hornets finished 3rd overall as a team, with everyone taking part in a 5K race.
 
Ashley Lagat led the way for the Hornets, placing 6th overall with a time of 18:40.1. Purity Kattam placed 8th    clocking in with a time of 19:11.2.
 
Lelani Gibson placed 11th overall on the Hornets with a time of 19:37.5 with Sabreeya Travis not far behind with her time of 19:45.7 finishing 13th overall.  

The Hornets are off until Saturday, Nov. 2, when they face off with all comers for MEAC Cross Country Championships hosted by Delaware State University.
