DSU Women's Cross Country Take First Place in Delaware State Sting Invitational

SMYRNA, DE – The Hornets defended their home cross country course by winning the Delaware State Sting Invitational against several MEAC rivals.

The Hornets scored 29 points, led by freshman Rebecca Jansen. Jansen made her debut in stellar fashion, finishing in 2nd place with a time of 19:44.9. Fellow freshman Anezka Seifertova added to the Hornets' success by claiming 4th place.

Sophomore and Smyrna High School product Mileah Cotton secured 6th place with a late burst of speed.

2023 All-MEAC performer Ava Larkin finished 8th, while freshman Ilianna Surowiec rounded out the Hornets' top five by earning 9th place.

All five Hornet women finished in the Top 10.
