Salisbury, MD-- The Delaware State Hornets women's cross country program competed in the Salisbury invitational on September, 27th, 2025.
The meet was highlighted by a team overall top 5 finish.
Freshman
Anezka Seifertova led the Hornets with a
14th-place finish, crossing the line in
23:04. She marked the
second-fastest time in school history,
Right behind her, sophomore
Mileah Cotton secured
20th place with a time of
23:37, setting a new personal best and posting the
third-fastest 6K in program history.
Fellow sophomore Leilani Gibson also had a breakthrough race, placing 30th overall in 24:35, good for seventh on the all-time list and another personal record for the Hornets.
Rounding out the historic day, freshman Ilianna Surowiec crossed in 38th place with a time of 24:57, claiming the 10th-fastest mark in DSU history.
With four athletes entering the Top 10 in a single meet and a strong collective showing, the Hornets continue to build momentum as the season progresses.
