(Apr. 29, 2023) --- Howard scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, overcoming a one-run deficit to defeat Delaware State 4-2 in game two of a MEAC doubleheader at Nats Youth Academy Field in Washington, D.C., today. The win completed a sweep of the twin-bill for the Bison, who took the opener 3-2.
In the nightcap, the Hornets pulled ahead 2-1 when Emma Glawson smacked a two-run homer in the top of the sixth.
Britney Phally singled to lead off the inning, and scored ahead of Glawson. The Bison answered with three runs in the bottom of the sixth off Hornet reliever
Madelyn Edwards to open up a 4-2 lead.
Delaware State was retired in order in the top of the seventh inning to seal the game-two win for the Bison.
In the opener, Delaware State was held to five hits by three Howard pitchers.
The Bison opened the scoring in game-one with two runs in the top of the first inning.
