NORFOLK, VA --The Delaware State Hornets needed nine innings to get the job done, but pulled off the 3-2 extra-innings win, walking it off with a win at the plate to claim victory over the Coppin State Eagles Friday.
Rhyannon Stanley (6-4) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Delaware State (28-17). The right-hander went one inning, giving up one run without giving up a hit. Kristin White also made an impact in the circle for the Hornets, starting the ballgame and throwing six innings, giving up one run on four hits, with one walk and five strikeouts.
In the batter's box, the Hornets were led by Chandler Martin, who went 2-for-2 on the day with a home run, a walk, and an RBI. Karly Cain compiled a standout performance as well, going 2-for-4 with a triple. Mi'Shon King also contributed for Delaware State, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets got on the scoreboard first, starting in the sixth inning. Martin put Delaware State on the board with a two-out solo home run off Emily Quintero.
Coppin State then rallied to take a 2-1 lead before Delaware State scored two runs in the bottom half of the ninth to grab the win, walking it off when King came across to score.
