NORFOLK, VA --Angie Ordonez collected four RBI's to help propel the Delaware State Hornets past the Norfolk State Spartans 9-8 on Friday morning.
Kristin White (9-8) got the win out of the bullpen for Delaware State (26-18). The right-hander went 3.2 innings, giving up three runs, all of them earned, on four hits, allowing two walks and striking out three.
Ordonez went 1-for-2 with a double in addition to her four RBI's for the Hornets. Karly Cain put together a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 3-for-3 with a walk and two RBI's. Nevaeh Terrell also chipped in for Delaware State, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding a double and an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 5-0, the Hornets first put runs on the board in the third inning. Delaware State got on the board thanks to Terrell's RBI double with one out.
The Hornets kept the deficit at 5-1 before tying the score in the fourth. The Delaware State offense exploded for four runs, highlighted by a three-run double off the bat of Ordonez, which evened the score at 5-5.
Norfolk State broke that tie and took a 7-5 lead heading into the fifth, when Delaware State grabbed the advantage at 9-7. The Hornets' bats heated up in the inning, scoring four runs, including a two-run fly out off the bat of Mianna Lopez Del Haro. Norfolk State put one run on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Delaware State still held on for the 9-8 win.
