Dover, Del. (Apr.27, 2023) --- Delaware State's Kit Ye Kay Au-Yeung (so.) and Daria Julia (jr.) have been honored by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference for their play during the 2023 women's tennis regular season. Au-Yeung and Julia have been selected to the 2023 All-MEAC Women's Tennis Second Team in voting by league head coaches and sports information representatives.
Julia has a 10-4 overall singles record, including 3-2 vs. MEAC opponents, while Au-Yeung, the 2022 MEAC Rookie-of-the-Year, is 3-2 in MEAC singles and 6-4 in doubles play this season. The pair has led the Hornets to the No. 3 seed in the 2023 MEAC Tournament and a 13-7-1 overall record this season, the team's best showing since 2013.
Sofya Chursina of South Carolina State is the 2023 MEAC Player-of-the-Year, while Alejandra Hidalgo Vega of North Carolina Central has been selected as the league's top rookie. SC State's Hardeep Judge is the 2024 MEAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.
