Dover, Del. (Feb. 9, 2023) --- Tickets for the annual Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Hall-of-Fame ceremony on Mar. 9 in Norfolk, Va., are now on sale. The event is held during the annual conference basketball tournament. Among this year's honorees is Hornets' men's basketball great Jahsha Bluntt.
A two-time MEAC Player of the Year (2006 and 2007), Bluntt was also the MEAC Basketball Tournament's Most Outstanding Performer in 2005. During his career with the Hornets, Delaware State won its lone MEAC tournament championship  – and corresponding NCAA Tournament berth – in 2005, while also making two NIT appearances. Bluntt led Delaware State to MEAC regular-season titles in three straight seasons: 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07, and he was a two-time First Team All-MEAC honoree. One of the MEAC's most prolific scorers, Bluntt currently ranks third in conference history in career made three-pointers (303) and 20^th all-time in scoring with 1,721 career points, third in Delaware State men's basketball history.

"I am humbled to be voted into the MEAC Hall of Fame, and grateful to the selection committee for the honor," said Bluntt. "I'm thankful for the blessing to represent Delaware State, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and all HBCUs. By the grace of God, my teammates, coaching staff and supporters, we were able to achieve so much and help put Delaware State on the map.  I'm honored to be among this year's outstanding MEAC Hall of Fame class."

After college, Bluntt was selected 10th overall by the Yakama Sun Kings of the Continental Basketball Association as well as in the second round of the 2007 NBA Development League Draft by the Iowa Energy. In 2008–09, he played for SO Maritime Boulogne in France, averaging 18.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

The 2023 MEAC Hall of Fame class also includes Ce'aira Brown (Hampton University Track & Field), Gary "Flea" Harrell (Howard University Football), Ramona Riley-Bozier (Morgan State University Volleyball) and Maria Rodriguez (University of Maryland-Eastern Shore Bowling).
