Dover, Del. (Feb. 8, 2023) --- Delaware State University and the Hornets' men's basketball program are still basking in the glow of the team's second appearance at actor-director Michael B. Jordan's HBCU Legacy Classic last weekend. In conjunction with the event, Hornet hoopers Kyle Johnson (Gr.; San Diego, Cal.) and Ray Somerville (So.; Media, Pa.) appeared with Jordan to discuss the classic and his journey from Newark, N.J., to acting stardom on the popular CBS This Morning Show, co-hosted by Gayle King. The segment aired on Feb. 8.
The Hornets' classic experience also included a visit to the New York headquarters of investment management giant and event corporate partner Invesco QQQ, participating in a panel discussion on financial literacy.
In addition, Delaware State students gained valuable hands-on experience and connections while assisting Legacy Classic organizers and national television partner TNT (Turner Network Television) during the event.
