NORFOLK, Va. --- Delaware State freshman guard
Savannah Brooks has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week as announced by the league earlier today.

In Delaware State's two games against Howard and Norfolk State, Brooks led the offensive efforts with a total of 27 points (13.5 points per game). Her week was highlighted by a 17-point performance against Howard where she shot 4-of-11 from the field including a team-high two triples.

Brooks knocked down 14 shots in 16 attempts from the charity stripe (.875 FT%) for the week. She also came away with six steals and three rebounds.

This is the third time this season that Brooks has been named the MEAC Rookie of the Week this season. Delaware State returns to Memorial Hall for back-to-back MEAC competitions starting Saturday against North Carolina Central University. Tipoff is currently scheduled for 2 p.m. Â
