Dover, Del. (Feb. 14, 2023) --- The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference has recognized Delaware State guard O'Koye Parker (sr.; Wilmington, Del.) for his stellar play last week. Parker and North Carolina Central's Kris Monroe have been selected as the MEAC Men's Basketball Co-Players of the Week, the league announced today. Parker tallied 59 points and 11 three-point field goals in three games for the Hornets last week, topping the  team in scoring in two of those games and sharing the lead in the other. He was 20-for-33 overall from the field (60.6%) and 11-of-17 on three-point shots (64.7%) in the three games. Parker tied his career-high with 24 points, highlighted by five three-pointers on six attempts, in the Hornets' heartbreaking 86-85 loss to Howard on Feb. 11. He nailed four threes on six tries during a 19-point performance against Norfolk State on Feb. 13.
For the season, Parker has appeared in 21 of the Hornets' 26 games, averaging 7.8 points per game to rank fifth on the team. He leads the club with 32 three-pointers on 64 attempts (50%), and is shooting 80% at the free throw line (20-for-25). The Hornets are home for the next two games, beginning with a Saturday contest (Feb. 18) against North Carolina Central. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall (Bayhealth Court).
