Delaware State opens MEAC competition at Howard

DOVER, Del. --- The Delaware State women's basketball team opens the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) portion of the 2022-23 season at the home of the 2021-22 tournament champions, Howard University on Saturday.
 
Looking to snap a six-game losing streak, the Hornets will turn to guard duo of senior Alexis Moragne and freshman Savannah Brooks to get Delaware State back into the win column. Brooks currently leads her team in points (98) scoring 8.9 points per game. Moragne who is right behind Brooks in points, leads Delaware State in points per game scoring at a clip of an even 9.0 points per game.
 
Howard enters Saturday's game having won 11-straight games against Delaware State with plans to extend that streak to 12. The Bison are led this season by junior guard Destiny Howell who comes into this weekend as the league leader in points per game (16.0) and third in the MEAC in total points (192).
