NORFOLK, Va. --- Delaware State redshirt sophomore center
Raymond Somerville has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league earlier this afternoon.
Â
In a week where the Hornets claimed back-to-back MEAC wins, Somerville stamped his name as one of the top defenders in the conference. He handed out a total of six blocks for an average of three per game while hauling in a total of 11 rebounds, nine of which came on the defensive end. This is the first time this season Somerville has been tabbed with MEAC honors.

Delaware State returns to action on Saturday for a nonconference matchup with Morgan State in the HBCU Legacy Invitational. Tipoff from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey is currently scheduled for 1 p.m.
