NORFOLK, Va. --- Delaware State freshman guard
Savannah Brooks has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week as announced by the league earlier today.

In Delaware State's games against North Carolina Central University and South Carolina State University, Brooks broke out for a total of 27 points (11-of-22 from the field), 10 rebounds, four steals and one block.

Her week was highlighted by her performance at South Carolina State University where she helped lead the Hornets to a 58-49 MEAC win over the Bulldogs. Brooks scored a season-high 18 points off 7-of-12 shooting from the field. She drained a pair of three-pointers as well as a pair of shots from the charity stripe. Â She finished off the game with five rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist.

This is the second time this season that Brooks has been named the MEAC Rookie of the Week.

Delaware State returns to action on Saturday for MEAC matchup with Morgan State University. Tipoff from Memorial Hall is currently scheduled for 2 p.m.
