Dover, Del. (Aug. 5, 2022) --- Delaware State punter Matt Noll (so.; Robesonia. Pa.) has been selected to the 2022 BOXTOROW Historically Black College and University Football Preseason All-America Team.
Noll, also a 2022 Preseason All-MEAC First Team selection, was tops in the league in punting with a 40.4 avg. He had 11 punts of 50-or-more yards, including a long of 64 yards, and placed 16 kicks inside the opponents' 20-yard line this last season to earn 2021 All-MEAC First Team honors.
In addition, he nailed his only field goal attempt last season, a 25-yarder in the Hornets' 30-23 victory over Howard.
Jackson State leads the 2022 HBCU college football Preseason All-America Team with five selections, including quarterback Shedeur Sanders, the HBCU Rookie of the Year in 2021.
Florida A&M linebacker Isaiah Land, the reigning BOXTOROW Willie Davis Defensive Player of the Year and FCS Buck Buchanon Award winner, highlights the HBCU Preseason All-America defense.BOXTOROW has administered The HBCU All-America teams since 2007 and the voters are comprised of media members from around the nation that cover HBCU football.
Preseason practice for the 2022 Delaware State football team is underway. The Hornets kick off the new season on Sep. 3 at home against Lincoln (Pa.) University. Game time is 2:05 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
