Dover, Del. (Aug. 3, 2022) --- Delaware State center Dillon Marshall (gr.; Waldorf, Md.) has returned to campus for the start of the Hornets' 2022 preseason football camp after spending much of the summer learning about the business side of NASCAR at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida.
Marshall, currently enrolled in Delaware State's Public Administration master's program after earning a bachelor's in Communications, was enrolled in the NASCAR Sales Academy through its Diversity Internship Program this summer.
His responsibilities with the NASCAR summer program involved working specifically in inside sales, primarily assigned to attracting large groups to attend or perform at events.
Last week, Marshall was named to the 2022 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Preseason All-MEAC Football Second Team after earning All-MEAC Third Team during the 2021 season.
He was also recognized as a member of the MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team.
Marshall's leadership will be greatly this season as he is one of just a handful of returning offensive starters from the Hornets' 2021 squad, which posted a 5-6 overall record and 2-3 mark in the MEAC.
Delaware State will hold its first of 20 scheduled on-field camp practices on Friday at Alumni Stadium. The Hornets will kick off their 2022 season at home against Lincoln (Pa.) University on Sep. 3. Game-time is set for 2:05 p.m.
