FORMER DELAWARE STATE TENNIS STANDOUT AWARDED NCAA GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

Dover, Del. (July 28, 2022) --- The National Collegiate Athletic Association has awarded a 10-thousand-dollar graduate scholarship to former Delaware State tennis athlete Cassandra Boltman for the 2022-23 school year.
Boltman, a 2021 Delaware State graduate and four-year letter winner for the Hornets' women's tennis team, is a recipient of the NCAA's Ethnic Minority Graduate Scholarship. The award was created to assist qualified full-time graduate students pursuing a career that provides a direct service to intercollegiate athletics.
A native of Johannesburg, South Africa, Boltman received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Delaware State, and is currently enrolled in the Athletics Training master's program at Florida International University (FIU).
"This scholarship, along with my graduate assistant position at FIU, will greatly assist in my educational and career pursuits," said Boltman. "I'm grateful to the NCAA for this award and its diversity and inclusion efforts."
Boltman also credits Delaware State University for preparing her for this opportunity.
"As an international student and athlete, Delaware State assisted me in so many ways, inspiring me to pursue big things. From my instructors and advisors, to the coaches and athletic training staff, I was provided opportunities that are helping me along my career path."
