NORFOLK, Va. --- Delaware State freshman guard
Savannah Brooks was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week as announced by the league earlier this afternoon.

In a week where the Hornets claimed their first two wins of the season, Brooks helped pace the offensive outbursts in both games having totaled 21 points scoring an average of 10.5 points per game. Brooks sank eight of 23 total shot attempts for a .348 shooting percentage from the field.

Brooks' best performance came in Delaware State's 66-36 win over Wilmington University where she dropped 15 points on 6-of-16 shooting from the field including knocking down a pair of three pointers.

She also added a four rebounds, four assists and four steals in both wins this past week.

Delaware State returns to action this Saturday at Loyola University Maryland. Tipoff from the Reitz Arena is currently scheduled for 2 p.m.
