Dover, Del. (Oct. 31, 2022) --- The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference has recognized Delaware State receiver Rahkeem Smith (fr.; Baltimore, Md.)  for his performance in the Hornets' 28-21 loss to North Carolina Central last Saturday.
Smith has been selected as the MEAC Rookie-of-the-Week after scoring three touchdowns and combining for 102 total offensive yards in the contest.
He scored all three Delaware State touchdowns, two by the pass and the other on a run play. He caught three passes for 55 yards and had two rushes for 47 yards in the game.
His third touchdown, from 48 yards after catching a pass from C.J. Henry, gave the Hornets a 21-20 lead with just under four minutes left to play.   
Delaware State returns to action on Saturday (Nov. 5) at South Carolina State. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. in Orangeburg, S.C.
