HORNETS LAND FIVE ON MEAC 50th ANNIVERSARY ALL-TIME MEN’S HOOPS TEAM

Dover, Del. (Mar. 9, 2021) --- Delaware State has five members, including three former players-of-the-year, on the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference 50th Anniversary All-Time Men's Basketball Team.
In celebration of the league's golden anniversary, a nationwide poll was conducted to select the top 50 players in league history.
The Delaware State honorees include two-time league player-of-the-year Jahsha Bluntt, who captured the award in 2006 and '07. A two-time All-MEAC First Team selection, Bluntt also led the Hornets to their lone MEAC Tournament championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2005. He's also the Hornets' all-time leader with 303 three-point field goals.
DSU's Kendall Gray is also a MEAC All-Time Top 50 honoree. Gray became the second player in league history to earn MEAC Player-of-the-Year and Defensive Player-of-the-Year in 2015. He is also the Hornets' career leader with 305 blocks.
Tom Davis also represents the Hornets on the MEAC All-Time Team. Davis was the MEAC Player-of-the- Year in 1989 and a three-time All-MEAC First Team selection. He ranks on the league's all-time scoring list with 2,275 points.
Former Delaware State stars Sam Shepherd and Charles Shealey also earned MEAC Top 50 recognition. Shepherd was a three-time All-MEAC First Team selection, while Shealey garnered two league first team awards.
