THE GAME 
Delaware State (2-10, 0-0 MEAC) plays its third game in five days, each on the road, visiting Temple of the American Athletic Conference. The Hornets bring an eight -game losing streak into the contest. DSU is coming off a 93-51 loss at Wagner on Monday.  The Hornets again struggled with their shooting, hitting just 15 of their 43 attempts from the floor (34.9%) and only two of 15 from three-point
range (13.3%. DSU was outrebounded 43-25 and was plagued by 23 turnovers in the game. D'Marco Baucum (jr.) came off the bench to lead the Hornets with a season-high 15 points vs. Wagner, highlighted by eight free throws in 10 attempts. Dominik Fragala, who was limited to 18 minutes due to an ankle injury in the game, was the only other DSU player to reach double-figures in scoring with 10 points vs. Wagner. Center Chris Sodom (jr.) shared game-high honors with seven rebounds and led all players with three blocks. Sodom was the MEAC's top shot blocker entering the contest. Delaware State also played its second straight game without starting point guard Corey Perkins (illness), who is third on the team in scoring and the leader in assists with 41 (4.1 per game). Perkins is third in the MEAC in assists at 4.1 per game (48 total), fourth in steals (2.0 pg), fourth in steals (1.3 per game) and sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3). Myles Carter is tops on the Hornets and third in the MEAC in scoring at 14.3 points per game. He's also 11th in the league in rebounding at 5.1 per contest. Fragala ranks fifth in the MEAC with a 13.9 points per game average. He's also second in the league in three-pointers at 2.3 per game (27 total). Sodom is the No. 1 shot blocker in the MEAC with 24 (2.0 pg) and he's fourth in the league in rebounding at 6.6 per game.
 
Temple (6-5; 0-0 AAC) has been idle since a 65-48 home loss to Central Florida (UCF) on Dec. 15. The Owls led 19-18 at the break, but were outscored 47-29 in the final 20 minutes. Jeremiah Williams and Damian Dunn were the only Temple players to scorer in double-figures with 11 and 10 sports, respectively. Dunn is tops in scoring among Owls with at least eight games played at 13.2 points per game. Temple was scheduled to play Drexel last Saturday (Dec. 18), but the game was called off due to heath and safety protocols.        

Series History (TEMPLE leads 2-0)
This Hornets and Owls are meeting for the third time. Temple won the two previous meetings, 66-56 on Dec. 28, 2014; and 78-63 on Dec. 19, 2015, each at the Liacouras Center. Delaware State and Temple have each played the University of Delaware this season. The Owls squeaked by the Hens  75-74 on Dec. 27 at home, while UD defeated Delaware State 59-48 on Dec. 2 in Dover, Del.
