Norfolk, Va. (Sep. 18, 2020) --- The 33-point, 30-rebound performance by Delaware State's Kendall Gray ('15) in the Hornets' 104-92 men's basketball victory at Coppin State on Mar. 5, 2015 is listed among the top 50 moments in the history of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Gray's feat, the first in Division I men's basketball since the 1970s, received national headlines and helped propel the senior star to MEAC Player-of-the-Year and MEAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year honors for the 2014-15 campaign, the second player in league history to receive the awards in the same season.
Among the other Delaware State moments considered for the MEAC 50th anniversary recognition were Hornet football great John Taylor's Super Bowl winning catch in 1989, bowler Kalyn Washburn's selection as the first-ever  NCAA Elite 88 Award recipient in 2010 and Darnerien McCants' two five-touchdown performances in 2000.
