LADY HORNET GREAT NAJAI POLLARD TAKING HER TALENTS TO EUROPE

Dover, Del. (June 16, 2019) --- Delaware State women basketball all-time leading scorer and reigning MEAC Player-of-the-Year NaJai Pollard will begin per professional basketball career overseas. Pollard, who graduated in May after a four-year career with the Lady Hornets, has signed a contract to compete for Helios of the Switzerland Women's Professional Basketball League.

Pollard is the most decorated player in DSU women's basketball history.

In addition to the 2018-19 MEAC Player-of-the-Year award, Pollard was a two-time HBCU All-America selection, three-time All-MEAC First Team pick and MEAC Rookie-of-the-Year honoree.

This past season, the Richmond, Va., native was tops in the MEAC and 7th among all NCAA Div. I players in scoring at 22.9 points per game. She was also the No. 2 MEAC rebounder at 10.3 per game and six-time MEAC Player-of-the-Week selection during the 2018-19 campaign.

On Feb. 11, Pollard became the Lady Hornets' all-time leading scorer. She ended her career with a school record 1,988 points. She's also second on the team's all-time rebound list (1,033) and is the top shot blocker in program history (254).  

Pollard is scheduled to begin her professional career in Switzerland in September.
