Dover, Del. (Mar. 24, 2019) --- The Delaware State women's tennis team collected one singles win and a doubles victory but it was not enough in a 6-1 loss to Norfolk State in the Hornets' MEAC opener today.

The Spartans won five of the six singles contests and two of three doubles matches.

Yelzaveta Bessonova was the Hornets' lone singles winner, topping Adriana Strode 6-1, 7-6 in the No. 6 contest.

DSU Cassandra Boltman took her opponent to three set before falling in the No. 3 singles match. Norfolk State's Zoe Fraser won the first set 6-3, but Boltman claimed the second set 6-2 to even the contest. Fraser won the third set 10-2 to earn the win.

Boltman also teamed with Aayushi for a 6-4 victory in the No. 2 doubles match.
