DSU WOMEN?s TENNIS ON A ROLL

Dover, Del. (Mar. 27, 2013) --- The Delaware State University women's tennis team is on a hot streak entering this Friday's key MEAC North contest against Howard. The Hornets have won their last 10 matches to improve to 11-3 overall and 2-0 in the MEAC.

This marks the second year in a row that DSU has compiled a double-digit win streak. Last season, the Hornets won a school–record 16 straight contests en route to the first MEAC division championship in team history. The 2012 streak ended with a loss to Howard in the MEAC Tournament semi-finals.

The 2013 Hornets have recorded six shutouts and allowed just one point in two other contests. DSU has also defeated nationally ranked Division II Northwood this season.

Sophomore Ksenia Kozlova and senior Brittany Marshall are tops on the Hornets will 11-2 singles records. Senior Marina Sicic is 9-2. Sophomore Vanja Andonova has won seven straight matches to improve to 9-4 this season.

Marshall and Andonova have teamed to compile a team-best 8-1 doubles record.

Kozlova, Marshall, Sicic and Andonova earned HBCU All-America recognition at the Historically Black Colleges & Universities Invitational last fall. The Hornets were second in the 2012 HBCU Invitational.
