THE GAME
Delaware State  travels to the Nation's Capital to take on George Washington of the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Hornets (1-2) have been idle since a 58-37 loss to Clemson on Nov. 13. DSU  trailed by seven points early in the second half before hitting a cold spell in the contest. The Hornets trailed 32-23 at the break, and pulled to within seven (32-25) when Casey Walker hit the first basket of the second half with 16:58 left to play. The Tigers answered with a 10-2 run, and opened up a 42-27 lead on a three-point basket with 12:36 remaining. The Hornets were outscored 26-14 in the second half. DSU held Clemson to 36 percent shooting in the first half (nine-for-25), but the Tigers warmed up to hit 10-of-21 shots from the floor (47.6%) in the final 20 minutes. Delaware State  was held to four-of-24 shooting after the break (16.7%). The Hornets missed their last 13 three-point shots to finish one-for-13 for the game (7.7%). Kendall Gray was high scorer for Delaware State with eight points (6-8 FTs). He also led the Hornets with three blocks. Walker had seven points and a team-high six rebounds. Jason Owens had six points on three-of-four shooting from the field. Delaware State committed a season-low five turnovers in the game.

George Washington is off to a 3-0 start this season. The Colonials are coming off a n 80-74 win over Manhattan on Saturday. GW trailed 39-30 at the break, but outscored the Jaspers 50-35 in the second half. Marcus Creek led  the Colonials with 27 points. His performance included five-of-eight  shooting from three-point territory. GW's Isaiah Armwood added 20 points, while teammate Kevon Larsen recoded a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Colonials outrebounded Manhattan 43-30 in the contest.  George Washington was 13-17 overall and 7-9 in the A10 last season.  The Colonials have been picked to finish 10th in the 2013-14 A10 in the league's preseason poll. Armwood is a preseason All-A10 Second Team selection.

DSU vs. GEO. WASHINGTON (GW leads 1-0)
This will be the  second meeting between the teams. George Washington won the first contest 77-59  on Dec. 31, 2011 at the Smith Center. The Hornets led 11-10 in the game before the Colonials took control.  GW led 37-27 at the half. Kendall Gray recorded his first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the game.
