(Washington, D.C.) – Battling wet and windy conditions on the road, the Delaware State women's soccer team (0-12) came up short Friday evening to the Howard Bison (4-6-1), 2-1.
During the first period, no score, the Hornets took a 1-0 lead when midfielder Chelsea Boursiquot (1) beat HU's keeper Kyra Dickinson (4-6-1) for the goal during the eighth minute.
Although, the Bison stormed back when defender/midfielder Sandra Bond (1) scored during the 16th minute to tie the game, followed by forward Zion Clarke (4) connecting for a score during the 27th minute to give HU the lead.
Unfortunately for DSU, it failed to mount a comeback as Howard held on for the victory.
When the final buzzer sounded, HU out-shot the Hornets, 13-10, with Boursiquot leading the way with three attempts for DSU. In addition, midfielder Kelly Pelz-Butler, forward Taylor Addison and defender Danielle Valente all totaled two shots each.
