TAKOMA PARK, MD -- Delaware St. posted a 14-0 shutout over Washington Adventist Wednesday (Sept. 9) at the Takoma Park Soccer Complex.

How it Happened
The Hornets quickly took control, scoring 10 goals in the opening half. Nileigha Williams opened the scoring in the third minute and added another goal less than two minutes later. Yazmeen Smith, Nicole Cargill, Trinity Surowiec, Colleen Udoh, Jailyn Wells and Rae'Ayn Gilbert also found the back of the net before halftime.

Surowiec completed a three-goal performance, while Cargill, Udoh, Williams and Gilbert each scored twice. Thalia Garcia recorded an assist on one of Surowiec's goals.

Delaware St. added four goals after halftime, with Anthonia Edobor scoring in the 53rd minute before Gilbert and Udoh added goals in the final 10 minutes. The Hornets finished with 25 shots, including 20 on goal, while Washington Adventist recorded one shot.

Goalkeeper Jazmin Bailey earned the shutout, while Andrea Villatro made 13 saves for Washington Adventist.
