Dover, Del. (Aug. 13, 2012) --- The Delaware State University football team was in full gear this morning for the first of two practice sessions at Alumni Stadium today. The Hornets will also hit the practice field this afternoon. "Two-a-days" are also set for Aug. 15th, 17th, 20th, 22nd and 24th.
The team will hold its first full contact scrimmage of this year's preseason camp on Saturday morning.
The Hornets will kick off the 2012 season at home against VMI on Sep. 1. Game time is 2:00 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
This Sunday (Aug. 19), DSU fans are invited to meet the team during its annual "Community Day" at Alumni Stadium. Hornet players and coaches will be available for pictures and autographs. The event will also feature food, prizes and giveaways, including free T-shirts to the first 100 fans age 14-and-under. In the event of rain, Community Day festivities will be held in the Memorial Hall Gymnasium on the DSU campus.
