REID NAMED COLLEGE SPORTS MADNESS PLAYER OF WEEK

DOVER, Del. - With the season recently underway, Delaware State senior Jordan Reid (Accokeek, Md.) is starting to rack up the weekly honors as the outfielder was named the CollegeSportsMadness.com MEAC Player of the Week.

Reid, who led her team to a 3-2 record to open the season, is currently hitting .563 with nine hits, including two doubles and a triple.  The back-to-back MEAC Player of the Year and 2012 Preseason Player of the Year most recently went 3-for-4 with a triple and RBI in the Hornets' 2-1 victory over the University of North Florida.

Delaware State defeated St. Bonaventure, Mount St. Mary's and UNF to win this past weekend's UNF Osprey Invitational.

The Hornets take on defending MEAC champion Bethune-Cookman this afternoon at 3 p.m. in Daytona Beach, Fla. before heading to Jacksonville for a doubleheader against the Dolphins tomorrow starting at 4 p.m.

DSU wraps up their Sunshine State swing with games against Kansas and UNF in the second Osprey Invitational this coming weekend.

College Sports Madness identifies the highest impact players nationally and from each conference in their weekly feature.
