NORFOLK, Va. --A. Santana had two hits, but it was not enough to push the Delaware State Hornets over the top in their 5-4 loss to the South Carolina State Bulldogs on Friday.
A. Fonollosa (4-4) started and took the loss in the circle for Delaware State (26-23). K. Rodriguez was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit.
Offensively, the Hornets were led by Santana, who went 2-for-2 on the day with a double and an RBI. K. Cain put together a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Z. Harding also chipped in for Delaware State, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the second inning. Delaware State's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a one-run single off the bat of Cain. The Hornets were unable to hold the lead, as South Carolina State scored five times over the remaining five innings to grab the 5-4 win.
